Bali the island of god

Bali was an island in Indonesia, one of the Indonesian provinces.Bali was located between the Javanese Island and the Lombok Island.The capital of his province was Denpasar, that was located at thesouth of this island.

Bali is famous for many forms of art, including painting, sculpture,woodcarving, handcrafts, and performing arts. Balinese gamelan musicis highly developed and varied. The dances portray stories from Hinduepics such as the Ramayana. Famous Balinese dances include pendet,legong, baris, topeng, barong, and kecak (the monkey dance).National education programs, mass media and tourism continue to changeBalinese culture. Immigration from other parts of Indonesia,especially Java, is changing the ethnic composition of Bali'spopulation.

The Hindu new year, Nyepi, is celebrated in the spring by a day ofsilence. On this day everyone stays at home and tourists areencouraged to remain in their hotels. On the preceding day large,colorful sculptures of ogoh-ogoh monsters are paraded and finallyburned in the evening to drive away evil spirits. Other festivalsthroughout the year are specified by the Balinese pawukon calendricalsystem

The inhabitants's Balinese majority was the adherent of the Hindu religion.In the world, Bali was known as the aim of tourism with the uniquenessof various results art-culture him, especially for the Japanesetourists and Australia.Bali was also known as the Island of the Gods
